CALL TO ARTISTS - Join our "Open to Interpretation" custom show at NYCC!

As were talking about what to do at NYCC 2026, Alex (Playful Gorilla) and I discussed the idea of showcasing a set of artists who may not always get picked for group custom shows. We know, it's tough out there - tough to break through and break out, get your pieces and your name in front of a lot of eyeballs. We've been grinding in that space for 20+ years. We get it.

Here is your opportunity! I have a nice big lit up glass case at NYCC on the busiest aisle in the show - TONS of eyeballs (250,000 over the course of the weekend). You can join and get your piece in this show.

Here is how to join the show:

1️⃣ Buy your platform from TenaciousToys.com - any toy in our inventory is valid as a base for your custom. We posted a few of our most popular DIY figures below but you can use any toy that we sell, even if you have to prime it and repaint!

2️⃣ Indicate your interest in joining - comment on this IG post with your order # and your artist name - your order conf # is 5 digits and will come in an email from sales @ tenacioustoys dot com

3️⃣ (OR alternatively you can send me a DM or email if you prefer, just make sure you comment "I'm in!" publicly on the post so I can make sure I got you in my DMs!)

4️⃣ I make a list of participating artists and start communicating with you as a group, like i do with any other custom show.

5️⃣ Depending on the size of the pieces you all choose to enter into the show, the roster will be limited to between 20 and 40 artists, as case space is not unlimited.

6️⃣ Timing-wise you should really make the purchase within the next week to ensure you have time to execute the custom. Also I cannot push the promotional aspect of the show too late because making the posts, blogs, emails web pages all take time for me to execute.

Standard cut for customs in a Tenacious custom show is 70/30 in favor of the artist, paid out in the week after the show if your piece sells at NYCC.

If it doesn't sell and it's easy to transport, I can potentially give you double the fun by bringing your piece to CollectedCon the following weekend!

I need a photo of your finished piece by October 1 and I need to receive it in the mail on Monday October 5th (sorry, time is very short but should work out fine if you can get the customizing done before end of September!) - return address provided once we add you to the artist roster officially!
